Topic 3.2 — Soil erosion

Consequences

Erosion by water leads to several negative consequences, both on-field and off-field.

On-field: loss of fertile topsoil and cultivable land, loss of crop production, decline in soil structure and productivity.

Off-field: pollution of rivers and lakes, mudflows, damage to infrastructure, silting of reservoirs.
