How the MOOC works

This MOOC combines short theory inputs with interactive activities to help you understand and explore soils from different perspectives.

Across the modules, you will encounter:

• short texts, images and videos

• quizzes to test your understanding

• do-it-yourself soil experiments and creative activities

• outdoor observations and map analysis

• reflection questions and forum discussions

• a personal Soil Journal

Your Soil Journal is a space for your own thoughts, questions, reflections, and insights as they develop throughout the course.

At several points in the MOOC, you will be invited to pause and reflect. You can record these moments in your Soil Journal or, if you prefer, share your thoughts with other learners.
